The April 30th build of Xenopus tropicalis started from a March 1 freeze of the data including 10.8 million reads, 74% from ~3kb insert libraries and 24% from ~8kb insert libraries, and 2% in fosmid and BAC end sequences. The average trimmed length of 665 bp for a total of 6.78 Gb of shotgun reads. This data set was assembled by JAZZ into 1.27 Gb of contig sequence (Contig N50 = 23,675, L50=15.5 Kb). 1.53 million reads where left unassembled. The assembled contigs have a mean depth of coverage of shotgun reads of 4.7. The measured depth and dataset size imply a genome size, assuming uniform sampling, of 1.48 Gb. This implies that the unassembled reads span 210Mb of genomic sequence at a depth of 4.8X. The total length of assembled scaffold sequence is 1.52 Gb. (Scaffold N50 = 683, L50 = 646 Kb).
